Visit our libraries for access to free computers and Wi-Fi

Every branch library in Powys offers free computer and Wi-Fi access.

Library Computers

Computers are available in all our branch libraries. To ensure social distancing you must book your session in advance.

Computer sessions will finish 15 minutes before library closing time

It's free to use our computers. Printing costs 20p per page for Black and White and 40p per page for colour.

Children under 16 must be members of the Internet Club. You must be a member of the library to join the Internet Club, and your parent/guardian must sign the Internet Club application form for you in front of a member of staff.

Our computers are installed with OpenOffice Wordprocessor and Spreadsheet.

If you have an Outlook or Hotmail account, you can access Word and Excel free - find out more here.

If you have a Gmail account, you can access Google Docs and Google Sheets free - find out more here.

Free Wi-Fi

To access Wifi you'll need a free user account. If you can receive a text message, you can create a Wi-Fi account yourself.

If you can't receive a text message, we can create an account for you - just ask at the counter.

To create an account yourself :

In any Powys library, select the ‘powysGuest’ Wifi signal.

  • Launch the web browser. It should redirect to the Powys CC ‘Login/Create an account’ page.

  • If it doesn't redirect, type neverssl.com into the browser - this will redirect you to the Powys login page.

  • Click the link at the bottom of the page to create a new account (the link is called "Os nad oes gennych, cliciwch yma / If you do not have an account, click here")

  • Fill in the short form, including a mobile phone number, and save. You will receive a text message with your username and password.

  • Go back to the Sign In page and log in.

  • Your login will be remembered for 30 days, after that you will be asked to login again
