National Library of Wales

The National Library of Wales has a fantastic collection of resources to explore online.

Visit the NLW Resources page to explore the National Library’s own digital resources, including Welsh Newspapers Online (15 million articles from 1804 to 1919), the Dictionary of Welsh Biography, Places of Wales, and much much more.

Visit the Subscriptions and Other Resources page for free access to a range of subscription websites, including online Newspaper archives, Oxford English Dictionary online, and the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. You’ll need a NLW readers ticket to access these resources. but if you live in Wales you can register for a readers ticket online.

Access to Research - available in full from library computers

Access to Research provides access to more than 30 million academic research articles, freely available through public libraries across the UK.

Please note that full articles are only available from library computers. However, you can search article summaries form home, and then come into any of our libraries to view in full.

Access to Research was created to open up access to publicly funded research. It’s a great resource for students and independent researchers, but all members of the public can use it too. Subjects covered include the sciences, art, architecture, business, engineering, history, languages, politics, philosophy, mathematics and much, much more. AskSARA

AskSara - made available by Powys Council - is an easy-to-use website aiming to help make daily activites easier by improving access to a range of self-care products and smart technology.

The AskSara Powys website asks a few simple questions in an anonymous way, and from the answers can produce a personalised report with expert advice - written by occupational therapists - to help people with their needs. The site is aimed at older people, carers and people with disabilities as well as children.
