A Chapter Well-Read: Sue Morrison’s Retirement

After 38 years of fostering a love for reading and knowledge in the heart of Builth Wells, librarian Sue Morrison is turning the page to a new chapter in her life. Sue, who began her journey at Builth Wells Library on a spring day, April 1, 1986, has been a cornerstone of the community, guiding countless patrons through the world of literature and information.

Her career, which started with training at Aberystwyth University and included a tenure at Coventry City libraries, culminated in over three decades of continuous service at Builth Wells. On May 28, 2024, Sue closed the library door for the last time, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service.

Sue’s commitment to the community extended beyond the library’s walls. Her involvement at the Builth Wells Heritage Centre as a volunteer showcases her passion for preserving and sharing local history. Now, as she steps into retirement, Sue looks forward to dedicating more time to this cause, as well as creating cherished memories with her grandchildren and exploring new horizons on holidays with her husband.

Thanks for your service, Sue – enjoy your retirement!
