We are starting to gather your stories at StoriPowys to reflect the diversity of voices in Powys. We would like to amplify voices and stories that may not ordinarily get heard.
We begin with Howard, born in 1935, and keen to show his much-treasured coin collection. Sifting through his coins he shares stories of buying a coin to mark leaving the ‘San’ in Carmarthen and winning ten farthings at the Brecon Fair. From being a farmer in Carmarthen, he married a Brecon girl and came over here. He worked on the bins and then worked with children with learning difficulties, which he found very rewarding.
