The General Baptists were founded at the beginning of the seventeenth century. The first Calvinistic Baptist Society was formed in 1633, representing a separate branch: these were the Particular (or Strict) Baptists.

John Wesley began his ministry in 1739, and Methodist Societies were formed almost from the first. There have been several secessions from the main organisation, most notably Primitive Methodists in 1807, and Independent Methodists in 1805.

George Fox, the founder of the Society of Friends, began to preach c 1647. The Friends, also known as Quakers, have no ministerial order, and the organisation of the movement is substantial as laid down in 1666.
