Inclusive dance workshops for young people in and around Newtown – where dance belongs to everybody.

Latest

We want more people to move and dance — to feel it’s for everyone. We give young people in Wales, especially those who are d/Deaf or living in areas with less access to dance, the chance to train, create, and explore. We bring dance to them, offering supportive, local sessions that help them grow with others who share their experiences.

About Jones the Dance

Jones the Dance is much more than movement.

We are the ideas inspired by the people we meet and the histories we share.

Unearthing stories, unseen and unspoken, giving physical life to the things we feel but can’t always see.

Our origins are rural and Welsh.

We embrace communities, generations, languages and cultures, locally and internationally, creating visceral experiences that connect us in ways that words can’t.

We explore big questions and ideas with courage and care.

We rethink who gets to dance, where it happens, and how it’s experienced by everyone who sees our shows, the young people who learn with us and the seasoned artists we work with.

We bring people together to create and enjoy dance.

Dance that powers up community, creativity and all that it is to be human – in body and in soul – where everybody belongs and dance belongs to everybody.
