You can borrow more than books from Powys Libraries! We’ve got iPads, Chromebooks, webcams and digital projectors - all available for you to borrow and take home.

iPads

You can borrow an iPad for a month at a time, free of charge. Our iPads come with mobile data, so you don’t need Wifi at home.

New to iPads? No problem - we’ll help you get started, and help is available at any time throughout the loan.

Chromebooks

You can borrow a Chromebook for a month at a time free of charge, and students can borrow for up to 3 months.

Our Chromebooks don’t have mobile data, so you will need your own Wifi.

Digital Projectors

We have two Digital Projector Kits available to hire for a weekly loan.

Each kit includes a separate camera and microphone/speaker, making them great for online meetings, as well as simply sharing your screen contents to your club or group.

Projector Kit 1: Optoma HD29HST

This projector can sit up to 2 metres away from wall or screen, and is generally bright enough for daylight use.  It is mains powered, and connects to a laptop with an HDMI cable.

Kit includes Optoma HD29HST digital projector, NexiGo N60 Webcam and Anker PowerConf microphone/speaker

Projector Kit 2: XGimi Halo+ 

This is a good projector for long distances and low light conditions, but is not suitable for daylight use. It has a built-in battery that can provide at least 2 hours of power. Can connect to a laptop, smartphone or tablet.

Kit includes: Halo HD Digital Projector, Logitech webcam and Jabra Bluetooth microphone/speaker.  

Please note that we don’t loan screens, but the projectors work well against a light coloured wall

Available for one week loan, and must be booked at least one week in advance.

Obsbot Webcam

The Obsbot is a high definition webcam and microphone, with optional auto-tracking. This makes it particularly suitable for video presentations or small hybrid meetings (ie 3 or 4 people in a room joining an online meeting). For use with a laptop or smart screen. Included free as part of any room hire, the Obsbot is also available for a weekly loan. If you wish to borrow an Obsbot to take away from the library, it must be booked at least one week in advance.

Library meeting rooms and workspaces

Several of our buildings have meeting rooms, private office space or fully equipped coworking desks for hire.

We’ve got large rooms for community clubs and events, meeting rooms of various sizes, and private spaces for work, study, interviews or online meetings and appointments.
