I have won major awards for my work, including an Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors, and my first book, The Other City, was a finalist for the Wales Book of the Year award. I have been lucky enough to perform at literature festivals across the UK and in Europe, and my work has been featured in the Guardian, Magma, and Poetry Wales among others. My residencies have ranged in size from the Hay Festival to the Bleddfa Centre. My latest book, Goliat, is published by Seren Books, but you can read more about my publications here.
I have a PhD in poetry from the University of Lancaster, where I taught creative writing, and over 20 years of experience leading Creative Writing workshops in both academic and community settings.
I specialise in poetry and creative non-fiction, and have a particular interest in environmental writing, ekphrastic work, chronic illness, and writing for mindfulness.
I am available to lead creative writing workshops, give readings of my work, and as a speaker more generally. I also sometimes take on mentoring work, which you can read about here. I’m based in mid-Powys, but am happy to travel across the county.
