Are you looking for somewhere to hold meetings or community events in Powys? Or a private office suitable for small meetings, interviews or workspace?
Newtown Library has 2 well equipped meeting rooms, with optional use of kitchen facilities.
The Meeting Pod is also available for smaller meetings or private workspace, and you can find work desks and relaxed seating in our 'Wifi Corner’ shared space.
Additional equipment is available, including a large internet-connected smart screen, webcam and laptop - scroll down for more information.
Free Wifi is available throughout the building, along with Wifi printing

Large Meeting Room
The Large Meeting Room is an easily accessible, versatile space suitable for 1:1 meetings, small groups or larger teaching or presentation events.
A large internet-connected Smart Screen is available on request, along with a range of additional equipment for meetings or training events - scroll down for details.
Kitchen facilities are available for a small extra charge.
Large Meeting Room Prices
Voluntary/educational organisations: £15 per hour and £30 for 3-hour bookings. 10% reduction for regular bookings (10 per year and over).
Other organisations: £20 per hour and £50 for 3-hour bookings. 10% reduction for regular bookings (10 per year and over).
Use of kitchen facilities: £5 extra.
At certain times the library may also be available out of hours, please contact us to find out more.
Small Meeting Room
The Small Meeting Room is suitable for up to 3 people. It includes a height-adjustable workstation for sit/stand use or wheelchair access, as well a side table with relaxed seating. A large monitor is available, along with an Obsbot webcam if required.
Complementary tea and coffee is available in the room, and kitchen facilities are available for a small extra charge.
Small Meeting Room Prices
Voluntary/Educational: £7.50 per hour and £20 for 3-hour bookings
Other Organisations: £10 per hour and £30 for 3-hour bookings
Individuals attending medical appointments, advice sessions, or interviews: Free of charge
Work and Study Space Options
Wifi Corner: Free Wifi is available throughout the building, but our Wifi Corner has a mixture of relaxed seating, counter height workspace and tables for you to use free of charge.
The Pod: The Pod is available for drop-in use, subject to availability - please ask at the counter.

For use in the library only.
The CleverTouch screen is popular for club activities, meetings and training events.
You can use it to stream videos, join or present online meetings, and it’s great for training courses too.
The large touchscreen is Internet-enabled, with a built-in Windows PC, and you can also connect a laptop or share content from a smartphone or tablet.
If you intend to use the Clever Touch for online meetings, please request a separate Obsbot camera/microphone when you make the booking.
The screen is on a height-adjustable, movable stand.
CleverTouch hire: £20 per half day, bookable in advance

High definition (4K) webcam / microphone with a 90 degree field of view, and optional auto-tracking.
Good for recording video presentations or presenting in meetings - the Obsbot can be set track and follow the main speaker. It is also good for joining small hybrid meetings (ie 3 or 4 people in a room joining an online meeting) due to the 90 degree field of view and quality of microphone.
For use with a laptop or smart screen.
Included free as part of any room hire, we also have some Obsbots available to borrow on a weekly basis: £10 per week, must be booked in advance.

For use in the library only.
Compact all-in-one Video Bar with high definition (4K) webcam / microphone. Larger than the Obsbot webcam, the Studio X30 has a 120 degree field of view, and automatic group framing.
The Studio X30 is good for joining medium sized hybrid meetings (ie up to 6 people in a room joining an online meeting), with automatic group framing and a 15ft microphone pickup range, offering a professional meeting experience.
For use with a laptop or smart screen.
Must be booked at least one week in advance - request the Studio X30 Video Bar when making a room booking. £20 per half day.

A laptop is available to use in the library free of charge.
We also hire sets of 5 or 10 laptops for training courses, meetings or events. Laptop sets are for use in the library only and must be booked at least one week in advance, and as far ahead as possible to ensure availability. £50 per day for up to 5 laptops; £100 per day for between 5 and 10 laptops.
