Llandrindod Library is to move a short distance and into the same building as Radnorshire Museum, Powys County Council has announced.

The Ystradgynlais Library buzzed with excitement as acclaimed storyteller Daniel Morden graced its newly refurbished halls. The event, generously funded by the Friends of Ystrad Library, marked the library’s grand reopening.

Arts organisations to share £675,000 Shared Prosperity Fund grant

The next course starts on Wednesday 17 April and lasts for 10 weeks. The content has been designed to include numeracy skills which are intended to assist you on a daily basis as well as being designed to support your children in school with their homework and preparing them for their assessments.

A funding programme that has been created to support arts and creative organisations in Powys is now inviting expressions of interest for project ideas.

Reading Well grant for Powys Libraries

Powys Libraries have received a £1000 grant from the Welsh Government to hold events in libraries to promote the Reading Well schemes. There are four Reading Well schemes delivered in Wales namely Reading Well for Mental Health, Reading Well for Dementia, Reading Well for Children and Reading Well for Teens and they recommend reading to help you understand and manage your mental health and wellbeing. The books are available in your local library and are free to borrow!

Staff at Ystradgynlais Library were delighted to be invited to give a talk to Ystradgynlais and District Women’s Institute about what the library offers and what could be expected after the refurbishments.

World Book Day is all about celebrating books and reading, so it is an ideal time us to launch several competitions for children across the County.

What is Ystradgynlais Library Looking Like Now?

Ystradgynlais Library is currently having a refurbishment. The library has been given a temporary home just a short step away in The Welfare. As well as offering a full range of library services from The Welfare, Library staff have been released to do a programme of activities in the community, to make sure people know that the library is still running and to develop an increased customer base after reopening, in mid-April.
