The next course starts on Wednesday 17 April and lasts for 10 weeks. The content has been designed to include numeracy skills which are intended to assist you on a daily basis as well as being designed to support your children in school with their homework and preparing them for their assessments.

Reading Well grant for Powys Libraries
Powys Libraries have received a £1000 grant from the Welsh Government to hold events in libraries to promote the Reading Well schemes. There are four Reading Well schemes delivered in Wales namely Reading Well for Mental Health, Reading Well for Dementia, Reading Well for Children and Reading Well for Teens and they recommend reading to help you understand and manage your mental health and wellbeing. The books are available in your local library and are free to borrow!

Ystradgynlais Library is currently having a refurbishment. The library has been given a temporary home just a short step away in The Welfare. As well as offering a full range of library services from The Welfare, Library staff have been released to do a programme of activities in the community, to make sure people know that the library is still running and to develop an increased customer base after reopening, in mid-April.

StoriPowys virtual advent calendar returns
Powys libraries popular virtual advent calendar is back for another year, running daily from 1 to 24 December on the StoriPowys Plant/Children Facebook page. Starting this Friday, each day we will post up a picture of a suggested Christmas book for you to share with your children and help get into the Christmas spirit together. All the books are available to borrow from your local library and we would love to see your photos of you reading the story, or simply let us know when and where you read it in the comments below the suggested book.
