Summer of Fun

Thanks to ‘Summer of Fun’ Welsh Government funding Powys Libraries have been able to offer science-based activities to the children of Powys over the summer holidays.

A grant from the Powys County Council allocation has helped to bring MAD Science workshops to libraries in the south of the county and Xplore! Science Discovery Centre sessions to those in the north of the county.

A further grant from the Society of Chief Librarians Cymru/Wales has enabled us to hold drone workshops and cookery classes in some of our branches. In addition to these events organised by the library service, the Reading Agency are organising a national programme of events with author visits/activities in each authority as part of the Summer Reading Challenge.
