New eMagazine Provider for Powys Libraries

Powys Library Service launches a new eMagazine provider, PressReader, bringing enhanced access to thousands of digital magazines and newspapers.

Powys Library Service is excited to announce the launch of PressReader, a new digital platform offering free access to a vast selection of eMagazines and eNewspapers, available to all Powys library members. Replacing the previous provider, Libby, PressReader brings an expanded range of titles, such as National Geographic, Good Housekeeping, The Guardian, and The Daily Mail, along with innovative features to enhance the reading experience.

With PressReader, library users will benefit from new accessibility tools, including a dedicated news feed, article dictation, and on-the-spot translation, making it easier to stay informed and entertained. Powys Library staff will be on hand to provide support and demos of the platform within library branches, as well as publishing help sheets on the library’s new website.

Digital Officer Tilly Boscott-Moses shared her enthusiasm for the new service, stating, “We are all very excited for the launch of PressReader – with its excellent accessibility and research features, it’s sure to excite our borrowers too.”

This upgraded service is free to use with a Powys library card, and anyone interested in accessing PressReader can discover the extensive collection of eMagazines and eNewspapers by joining the library online.
