Artist call for Brecon exhibition
A south Powys gallery is calling for artists to exhibit their work, the county council has said.
In preparation for a temporary exhibition later this year, y Gaer, Museum, Art Gallery and Library in Brecon is looking for artists to submit pieces, to exhibit alongside works from its own collection.
Before submitting, please ensure the work fits the following guidelines:
Artworks can be in mixed mediums, but the primary materials should be pencil and/or ink.
Pieces should be framed and mirror plated.
Cllr David Selby, Cabinet Member for a More Prosperous Powys, said: "If you are an artist living in the county, please consider submitting a piece to this exhibition. It would be fantastic to see an assortment of local pieces displayed in y Gaer for residents and visitors to enjoy, but also to promote the talent we have here in Powys.
"This exhibition will give an opportunity for local artists, known and unknown, to showcase themselves and present their work at this popular venue."
All submitted artworks will go through a selection process to ensure that they are suitable for the exhibition, therefore it is not guaranteed that every piece will be chosen.
Chosen artworks will be exhibited for four months from December 2023 - April 2024, therefore artists must be happy for their work to be on loan and out on display for the duration. Submissions will close on Tuesday 3 October.
Within the exhibition, each piece will be clearly labelled with the artist, title, and social media handle, where applicable.
