Adult Activities & Events Support Volunteer - Ystradgynlais Library
As an Adult Activities & Events Support Volunteer, you will be supporting the Education and Access Officer (y Gaer)/Curatorial Team (Radnorshire Museum)/Branch Librarian (Y Lanfa and other libraries) to provide adult activities and events, both online and in person.
Tasks:
Your role may include some, or all, of the following:
Supporting the organisation, preparation and delivery of regular adult activities and events such as Knit & Natter sessions, book clubs or writing groups. This may also include working with adults with learning difficulties.
Supporting the delivery of one-off adult community events, either in-house or off-site, (e.g., exhibition opening event.)
Assisting with the setting up of rooms (e.g., moving tables and chairs, preparing refreshments, etc) and clearing up after an event/activity.
Meeting and greeting visitors/guests/activity participants.
Stewarding larger events and providing a security presence at key locations around the site.
Taking photographs and securing permission forms from visitors/guests/activity participants.
Helping to monitor the quality of adult community activities & events through public engagement and feedback forms.
Undertaking any tasks related to adult learning and access as may be reasonably requested by the Education and Access Officer/Curatorial Team/Branch Librarian.

An enhanced DBS certificate is required for all volunteers in this role.
Training:
Training will be provided by an appropriate member of staff. You will also need to complete online Powys County Council Fire and Health & Safety; Manual Handling and Cyber Security & GDPR Training.
Time Commitment:
Both regular activities and one-off events take place throughout the week, with some in the early evening and at weekends, depending on the location. Volunteering sessions last for approximately 2-6 hours.
