DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Seed Production \n\nMon 13 Apr 2026 • 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM\nY Gaer\, Brecon\, LD3 7DW \nJoin growers from the Wales Seed Hub for an introduction to seed production.\nThis workshop is ideal for those who want to begin their journey into producing seed\, perhaps as a Seed Guardian for the Brecon Seed Library! \nWe will cover the essential topics for producing good-quality seed: planning\, growing\, selection\, harvesting\, and processing.\nBy the end of the workshop\, you will have the confidence to go away and start growing your own seed crops. \nThe workshop is designed for those who already have some understanding of how to grow food crops (we won’t be able to cover the basics of food growing from scratch). \nThe workshop is run by the Seed Sovereignty Programme – https://www.seedsovereignty.info \nTicket prices vary: \nWe ask those who can afford it to book a general admission ticket.\nIf you need a partially subsidised ticket\, you are welcome to select that option at the checkout.\nWe have a limited number of full bursary tickets. \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Brecon Library are working in partnership with Black Mountain College to develop a seed library. We hope to be able to develop a network where we grow\, produce and share seeds locally. We are also keen to provide information and education about growing\, seed saving and what to do with what you grow.\nWe want to connect seeds to stories and your stories about growing for example cucumber seeds smuggled from Syria or the local Brecon Black Runner Bean.\nWe have day full of getting dirty activities\, stalls\, presentations and music from Fiddle Bop! \nThere will be presentations during the day including: \n11.30 – 12.30 The Wales Seed Hub for an introduction to seed production and saving. \n12.45 – 1.15 Local Author and Forager Adele Nozedar. \n1.30 – 2.00 John Crellin – local author of The Brecknockshire Flora’ \nStalls include:\nWelsh Wildlife\nCoed Talylan\nBlack Mountain College\nBook binder – Guy Begbie – capturing your stories\nMIND Brecon\nOn the Verge\nOur Tiny Veg Growers\nBrecon Men in Sheds\nThe y Gaer volunteer gardeners\nSeed Library engagement and information\nWales Seed Hub
