Creative Forum – Dr James January-McCann – Collecting Welsh Place Names

Dr James January-McCann, Place Names Officer at the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historic Welsh Monuments, will delve into the history and development of the List of Historic Welsh Place Names, and discuss the various sources from which it draws material, with a strong focus on local place names.
His research interests are Early Modern Catholic Literature in Welsh, and Welsh Place Names, and he has written a number of articles on both fields. He has also translated a number of books for learners of Irish, and is a regular columnist for Lingo360, the online magazine for Welsh learners.
